Tower Bersama Group Floods Victims in Pacitan

Jakarta, 11 December 2017 - PT Tower Bersama Infrasrtucture Tbk (“TBIG”) provides post disaster assistance to help people in Klesem Kebung Agung Fillage, Pacitan regency, East Java. The Disaster response team led by East Java Regional Manager, Supriyanto mobilized TBIG Mobile Clinic (“Monik TBIG”) to provide staple foods and healthcare for two days at the site.

Supriyanto stated that he has coordinated with TBIG’s Corporate Social Responsibility team to send aid since the beginning of the disaster, but it was constrained by paralyzed access to the site for several days. “The aid was ready since the day the disaster started, and we have run survey as soon as access was recovered and now we are here for two days,” he explained.

In addition to medical assistance, TBIG also provides staple food supplies such as rice and side dishes. “We have complete medical team. There are doctors and supported with adequate medical equipment including stretcher, oxygen tank, medicine and supplementary foods,” he added.

Meanwhile, through the media release, TBIG Chief Business Support Officer, Lie Si An confirmed that TBIG wants to contribute in helping local governments and communities especially the ones who suffer by recent disasters. “From reports in the media and our regional offices there are indeed extraordinary conditions caused by disasters in various regions of Indonesia. We have prepared some concrete actions to help the people there,” he explained.

President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Herman Setya Budi, stated that providing assistance to people who suffer from natural disasters is a routine CSR activity undertaken by the company and as a form of corporate concern for humanity. “We are preparing volunteers who can be mobilized to the impacted area to provide the needed aid the community there,” Herman explained.

WEATHER ANOMALY

The natural disasters occurred over the past few days in various parts of Indonesia. This condition is caused by weather anomaly brought by Dahlia cyclones that hit the waters of Java.

Some areas of the Special Region of Yogyakarta experienced floods and landslides caused by cyclonic weather anomaly that hit some parts of Indonesia especially the southern coast of Java. According to BNPD data areas affected by floods or landslides are Bantul regency (landslides: 44 spots, flood: 31 spots), Kulonprogo (flood: 10 spots and landslide: 4 spots), Sleman (landslide 7 spots, flood: 4 spots) and Gunung Kidul (flood 24 spots and landslide: 6 spots).
