Tower Bersama Performs Disaster Response Action in Banyumas

“Tower Bersama Infrastructure deploys a unit of Mobile Health Clinic (Monik TBIG) to provide health services for pregnant women and children under five.”

 

Banyumas, 28 June 2016 – PT. Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk., deploys a disaster response action for residents in Tambak district, Banyumas regency, Central Java who were affected by flood and landslides. The action is carried out by sending one unit of Mobile Health Clinic (Monik TBIG) along with doctors and medical personnel.

 

Monik TBIG is equipped with adequate medical supplies including equipment specified for medical examinations for pregnant women, children under five and the elderly. In addition to general medical assistance, Monik TBIG also provides ultrasound services for pregnant women, hygienic and healthy lifestyle counseling, disease prevention education, medication and additional foods for children under five.

 

“Tower Bersama Infrastructure regularly provides free healthcare to people in various regions. It has become part of our duty in regional office to perform disaster responses,” said Regional Manager of Tower Bersama Infrastructure Central Java, Doddy Adianto in Banyumas, Tuesday (28/6).

 

Furthermore, Doddy explained, TBIG so far has operated a fleet of six Monik TBIG as disaster response action that can be mobilized to various regions in Indonesia. “Tower Bersama Infrastructure commits and very responsive to catastrophic events like this,” he said.

Extreme weather and heavy rainfall in some parts of Central Java has caused flash floods and landslides in several areas such as Kebumen, Banjarnegara and Purworejo. The disaster has caused large losses, as in Kebumen, it reached USD 1.5 billion.

 

Doddy explained, Mobile Health Clinic TBIG has been operating since 2012 and serves communities in West Java, Central Java, East Java, Lampung, Palembang and Medan. “One of our CSR activities is in the health field. The characteristic of Mobile Health Clinic (Monik TBIG) which is easy to move around is suitable to provide emergency response functions like this, not only for regular health services” he explained.

Besides aiming to provide free healthcare to people affected by floods, especially pregnant women and children, Monik TBIG also operated to provide post-disaster services for disaster victims in various regions.

 

Throughout February 2016, Monik TBIG has provided free healthcare to 8,579 beneficiaries in 51 points of service. The Health CSR action is implemented by TBIG throughout the year since it was first launched in 2012.

 

Additionally, Monik TBIG also serves people in the outmost regions of Indonesia in cooperation with the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture and also with the Navy of Indonesian National Army. This is to support government programs in improving the quality of public health in the outer and remote islands in Indonesia.
