Environmental

Environmental sustainability is pertinent for the planet, our business, our customers, and local communities. TBIG is committed to minimizing our environmental impact across our operations in areas such as energy, emissions, materials, waste, water, and biodiversity to safeguard the environment for present and future generations.

Energy and Emissions

In support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9, our telecommunications towers enhance connectivity for communities throughout Indonesia. Nevertheless, the towers require resources to construct and maintain, and energy is consumed as part of our Company’s daily operations, contributing to climate change. The Company recognizes the critical role that businesses play in driving climate action. We support Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contributions plan to transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.

We are developing and implementing a roadmap for achieving our Net Zero 2040 target. TBIG’s GHG emissions reporting is aligned with the operational control approach recommended by the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. Our inventory, covering Scope 1 and 2 emissions, is verified against ISO14064 by an independent third party.

Materials and Waste

Resource efficiency is an important focus by which we reduce our environmental footprint and impact. Our Company’s colocation and tower sharing model optimizes the use of resources by reducing the duplication that would have occurred under the traditional operator-owned model. Our model thus inherently minimizes material consumption, waste generation and reduces our effects on the environment.

Water

The Company promotes efficient use of water through raising awareness on water conservation awareness and exploring alternative sources of water.

Biodiversity

TBIG’s offices and telecommunication sites are not located within or immediately adjacent to protected areas or conservation sites. As such, the Company’s operations are deemed to have minimal impact on biodiversity. Further, the Environmental Management Effort and Environmental Monitoring Effort reports show that no endangered flora and fauna species were found around any telecommunication sites.
