A Tangible Form of Support to the Government and Community Against the Covid-19 Pandemic, TBIG Again Donates Ventilators and PPE to the City of Medan

Medan, July 27, 2020 – The spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia continues to increase, as a form of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk ("TBIG") commitment in helping the government and the community, especially the City of Medan, TBIG again distributed donations in the form of ventilators and a number of PPE which were distributed to the Medan City Government ("Pemkot"). Previously, TBIG had also distributed assistance in the form of ventilators, disposable masks, disposable gloves, isolation gowns and forehead thermometers and others to several regions such as Bali, Semarang, Surabaya, South Tangerang, Central Java, Bogor and Malang some time ago. In addition, basic food assistance and masks were also distributed to affected communities to various regions, especially TBIG operational locations.

The handover of donations in the form of ventilators and PPE such as disposable masks, disposable gloves and isolation gowns as well as forehead thermometers was symbolically handed over to the Medan City Government by TBIG representatives represented by Area Operation Div Head – 1/Sumatra TBIG, Wijoyo Tunjung Cahyono and Regional Operation Maintenance Dept. Head – Sumbagut, Ariffianto and Project Management SACME Department – Sumbagut, Hamengku Cakra which was received by the Mayor of Medan, Ir. H. Akhyar Nasution, M.Si. and Dr. Suryadi Panjaitan, M.Kes, Sp.PD as the Director of Dr. Pirngadi Hospital in Medan City, Monday (27/7)

This donation is part of TBIG's CSR program with the theme "Together We Share" which aims to ease the burden on residents and hospitals facing the Covid-19 pandemic disaster and has been carried out some time ago in several regions through the city government which will later be distributed to medical personnel and several hospitals in their respective regions.

The Mayor of Medan, Ir. H. Akhyar Nasution, M.Si. at the handover ceremony of respiratory equipment in the form of ventilators and PPE today, Monday (27/7), welcomed and appreciated TBIG's assistance for the needs of medical personnel who have been distributed for use by Dr. Pirngadi Hospital in Medan City. In the midst of today's pandemic conditions, the need for PPE and medical equipment is urgently needed by the hospital to protect medical personnel in treating Covid-19 patients.

Area Operation Div Head – 1/Sumatra TBIG, Wijoyo Tunjung Cahyono revealed, currently the government and the community, especially medical personnel, are struggling against the Covid-19 pandemic. This assistance is a form of TBIG's support for the government's instructions so that all components of the nation, including the private sector, help accelerate the handling of Covid-19 throughout Indonesia. "TBIG hopes that all components of the nation can continue to work together, shoulder to shoulder and support each other so that Indonesia can immediately overcome this pandemic well," he said.

Regional Operation Maintenance Dept. Head – Sumbagut, Ariffianto added, This donation is one of the many CSR activities of TBIG, especially the "Bersama Kita Berbagi" program which has been carried out several times since the Covid-19 pandemic was detected in Indonesia. "This is a form of TBIG's seriousness and commitment to support the government's programs and efforts to accelerate the Covid-19 response in the country," he said.

The same thing was also expressed by the Project Management of SACME Department – Sumbagut, Hamengku Cakra, "TBIG hopes that the donations in the form of ventilators and PPE given can contribute to protecting medical workers and supporting the Medan City Government in fighting Covid-19," he added.
