TBIG Supports Post-Earthquake Recovery in Nagekeo Through a Health Program for Pregnant Women and Toddlers

Nagekeo, October 16, 2026  — Reaching areas with geographical challenges and limited accessibility is part of the journey toward telecommunications infrastructure development. However, for PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG), the concept of “reaching” goes beyond simply providing infrastructure. That presence is also demonstrated through direct contributions to the community, including in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions (3T).

In Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, the need to improve access to basic services, including health care, remains a challenge for community development. The earthquake that struck the East Nusa Tenggara region on August 15, 2026, damaged infrastructure and compounded the challenges of meeting the community’s basic needs. In such situations, support for maternal and child health is a key concern, given that both groups require special attention, particularly during the recovery period.

Through a three-month pilot program, TBIG will develop a CSR approach tailored to the needs of the local community. The program focuses on health education, providing nutritious supplementary food for pregnant women and toddlers, supplying medicines to community health centers, providing clean water, and conducting regular educational sessions on healthy lifestyles.

TBIG Chief Business Officer Lie Si An said that this program is the company’s first step toward developing a CSR implementation model in 3T regions that is better suited to local social conditions and community needs.

“This program is a pilot program designed to test the effectiveness of the 3T program’s implementation model. The pilot program will run for the next three months so that we can gain a comprehensive understanding of the social conditions in the target area and thereby formulate an even more appropriate model for the years ahead.”

In this pilot program, TBIG will focus its efforts on providing health education and supplementary food for pregnant women and toddlers. “In remote areas, pregnant women and children are vulnerable groups that require special attention, especially in the post-disaster period,” “That's right,” said Lie Si An, adding that during this three-month initiative, TBIG was assisted by Filantra, church youth groups, 23 posyandu, and the administrators of the Jawakisa Community Health Center in distributing aid to the intended recipients.

“For us, reaching these areas doesn’t just mean ensuring that infrastructure is available in regions with greater access challenges, but also ensuring that this infrastructure directly benefits the community. That is why, through this program, we want to provide support that meets the community’s needs, particularly in the area of health,” Lie Si An emphasized.

He added that the aid consists of nutritious food supplements for pregnant women and toddlers, medicines for community health centers, clean water, and regular health education to help raise public awareness of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Lie Si An further explained that the 3T program demonstrates the company’s tangible contributions in 3T regions by addressing local needs. Support for basic health services, access to clean water, and health education are all part of the effort to extend the program’s benefits to communities in areas facing access challenges.

“For us, connectivity isn’t just about telecommunications infrastructure networks—it’s also about building social relationships with the communities surrounding our assets. That’s why we want to ensure that our company’s contributions address the real needs of these communities,” concluded Lie Si An.
