TBIG Strengthens Journalists' Skills Through the Third Batch of the Journalism Fellowship on CSR
Jakarta, May 22, 2026 - PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (“TBIG”), in collaboration with the Journalists’ Movement for Education (GWPP), is once again organizing the 2026 Journalism Fellowship on CSR (JFC) Batch III as part of an effort to strengthen journalists’ professionalism and improve the quality of journalistic work focusing on corporate social responsibility (CSR), education, and community empowerment.
This fellowship program has generated a great deal of enthusiasm among online journalists across Indonesia. Following a selection process that lasted about a month, 15 selected journalists will participate in a series of journalism education and training sessions, which will take place both online and in person from May to June 2026.
The media plays a strategic role as a vehicle for public education, including in fostering public understanding of corporate social responsibility practices that have a positive impact on the surrounding environment. With this in mind, TBIG and GWPP are once again organizing the Journalism Fellowship on CSR, Batch III, for 2026.
In response to the media’s strategic role as a vehicle for public education, this fellowship program is designed to encourage the production of high-quality journalism, particularly in addressing social issues, education, and corporate social responsibility.
Nurcholis MA Basyari, Director of the Journalists’ Movement for Education, stated that this program is designed to maintain the effectiveness of learning while ensuring that participants receive optimal support.
“We’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm from journalists across various regions. Following the selection process, 15 participants have been chosen to take part in this year’s fellowship,” he said.
The third cohort of the Journalism Fellowship on CSR program will kick off on May 22, 2026, at the TBIG Learning Center in Karawaci, Tangerang, Banten, in a hybrid format.
Li Sie An, Chief of Business Support at Tower Bersama, said that this program is part of the company’s commitment to supporting the professional development of journalists while promoting a broader understanding of the social impact of CSR programs in the community.
“Through the Journalism Fellowship on CSR, we hope that journalists can further strengthen their journalistic skills while gaining a broader perspective on the role of CSR programs in community development. We believe the press plays a strategic role in conveying information that is educational, constructive, and has a positive impact on the public,” said Li Sie An.
He added that the continuation of this program reflects TBIG’s commitment to supporting the education ecosystem and capacity building in Indonesia.
“This collaboration with GWPP is expected to continue to create opportunities for learning, the exchange of ideas, and the strengthening of professionalism among journalists from various regions,” he added.
Throughout the fellowship, participants will receive training covering the three main aspects of journalistic competence: skills, knowledge, and awareness. In addition to attending training sessions, participants will also engage in practical exercises, receive guidance, and benefit from coaching and mentoring—all without compromising their productivity in carrying out their daily journalistic duties.
Previously, GWPP and TBIG successfully organized the Journalism Fellowship on CSR (Batches I and II) throughout 2025, involving dozens of journalists from various regions across Indonesia. Through this program, TBIG hopes to continue supporting the development of professional, adaptable journalists who are capable of producing high-quality journalistic work that brings broad benefits to society.
