TBIG Equips 100 Students with Skills in Telecommunications Infrastructure and Fiber Optics

Jakarta, October 2, 2026 — PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) equipped 100 students from various universities with knowledge and skills in the fields of telecommunications infrastructure and fiber optics through a two-day training session at the TBIG Learning Center in Karawaci, Banten.

This activity aims to broaden students’ understanding of the technologies used in the telecommunications industry while providing them with hands-on learning experiences. The training material covers an introduction to telecommunications infrastructure equipment, the functions and characteristics of fiber optics, and other supporting technologies. Participants also have the opportunity to learn about the application of these technologies through hands-on sessions and a visit to the TBIG Laboratory (TBIG Lab).

Lie Si An, TBIG’s Chief of Business Support, said, “Through this training, we hope participants will be able to upgrade their skills and knowledge regarding the latest technologies in telecommunications infrastructure and fiber optics,” he explained, adding that the event is one of TBIG’s efforts to provide students with a learning experience that is more closely aligned with industry needs.

“Students need the opportunity to see and put into practice firsthand what they have been learning in theory. That’s why, in addition to technical material, we also provide soft skills training so they’ll be better prepared for the workforce,” said Lie Si An.

According to him, collaboration between universities and industry can help bridge the gap between the skills acquired in the classroom and the needs of the workforce.

One of the participants, Atilla Pramudya Nugroho, a student at Telkom University in Jakarta, expressed his appreciation for the learning opportunity provided by TBIG.

“While participating in activities at the TBIG office, I gained a lot of new insights into telecommunications infrastructure and got to know TBIG’s corporate culture. This experience was very memorable and broadened my understanding of the telecommunications industry. I hope to become part of TBIG someday,” said Atilla.

Evelyn Anastasia, a student at the Indonesia University of Education, expressed similar appreciation, noting that the training provided a more realistic picture of the telecommunications industry. “During the training and my visit to the TBIG Lab, I was very excited to gain new experiences and knowledge, particularly regarding fiber optics, FTTH, and other supporting technologies. This activity provided a very interesting experience because we were able to learn firsthand about the technology used in the telecommunications industry,” he concluded.

Through this initiative, TBIG hopes to contribute to the development of the younger generation’s competencies, particularly in the field of telecommunications infrastructure. The provision of technical knowledge, practical experience, and soft skills is expected to equip students to face the challenges of the workforce and support the availability of competent talent for Indonesia’s telecommunications industry.
