Gebyar Batik Muda Nusantara 2014

TBIG supports the Gebyar Batik Muda Nusantara 2014 event organized by the Ikatan Pencinta Batik Nusantara on June 13, 2014, at Kota Kasablanka. This year’s GBMN marks the third edition, after it was first held in 2011. The event offers various activities aimed at fulfilling the enthusiasm of batik enthusiasts in particular, and the public in general.

The event was opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports, KRMT Roy Suryo. Roy Suryo emphasized that cultural events like this need government support. He also highlighted the importance of raising awareness among the younger generation about the cultural wealth of their country.

This year’s GBMN carries the theme Muda, Gaya, Berbudaya (Youthful, Stylish, and Cultural). The slogan aims to continue promoting that batik is not an outdated tradition, but a cultural heritage that remains dynamic and evolves with the times.

In addition to showcasing several batik booths, GBMN also hosted various competitions, including modern dance contests, batik drapery competitions, young model contests for Nusantara batik, and as an initial step towards the 2014 Batik Nusantara Prince and Princess selection event.
