TBIG Again Donates Ventilators and PPE to Support the Government and Hospital to Handle Covid-19 in Semarang
Semarang, June 23, 2020 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk ("TBIG") has taken anticipatory measures to face the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. TBIG supports the Semarang City Government by donating medical masks, disposable gloves, hazmat suits, forehead thermometers, and ventilators to the Semarang City Government. This donation is expected to help medical personnel and hospitals in treating Covid-19 patients.
The handover ceremony of PPE donations in the form of 5,000 units of medical masks, 1,100 pairs of disposable gloves, 450 hazmat suits, and 4 units of forehead thermometers has been handed over by TBIG representatives represented by the Regional Operation Maintenance Dept. Head – Central Java, Fanel Victor Situmorang and PM Sacme Dept. Head – Central Java, Agung Pintoko on Thursday, June 18 to the Head of the Semarang City Health Office, dr. Moh Abdul Hakam. Meanwhile, 1 unit of ventilator machine was handed over to dr. Susi Herawati M.Kes as the Director of RSUD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro, Semarang and dr. Jirjis Al Hakim as Head of Service on June 23 which was witnessed by the Mayor of Semarang, Mr. Hendrar Prihadi.
Regional Operation Maintenance Dept. Head – Central Java, Fanel Victor Situmorang explained that this donation activity is a form of concern and tangible evidence of TBIG's contribution in helping the government and the community in dealing with Covid-19 throughout Indonesia, especially TBIG's operational locations, which are part of the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. "We have carried out a series of social activities since this pandemic disaster occurred a few months ago by distributing various assistance to the community and the government, especially the RSUD which is at the forefront of handling Covid-19," he said.
Dept. Head of Central Java Sacme PM, Agung Pintoko added, "Considering that many hospitals are starting to have difficulty getting adequate PPE and medical equipment for handling Covid-19 patients, donation assistance is currently prioritized on PPE and ventilator machines to support hospitals to increase adequate stock in handling Covid-19 patients, especially in Semarang City. TBIG hopes that this donation can be useful as well as possible and can be used by medical personnel and hospitals who have an important role in the forefront of handling Covid-19," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Semarang City Government and the Semarang City Health Office welcomed and appreciated the donation of medical equipment and PPE for the needs of medical personnel and hospitals in Semarang City. During this pandemic, the need for PPE and medical equipment is urgently needed by the hospital to protect medical personnel in treating Covid-19 patients. Government data states that as of Thursday, June 18, 2020, for the Semarang City area, the number of confirmed positive cases was 273, 99 people died and 427 people recovered.
