TBIG Batik House Adds Natural Dye Plant Collection for Batik
Jakarta, October 22, 2019 – PT. Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, since 2014 has been running a CSR program in the field of batik creative economy in Pekalongan Regency. Through the Rumah Batik TBIG program, the company provides structured batik teaching program assistance to the community who are the target of program implementation. This training is provided free of charge. One of the activities at Rumah Batik TBiG is the preservation of batik natural dyes which is one of the subjects of teaching given at Rumah Batik TBiG.
In addition to the learning process of dyeing, Rumah Batik TBIG also plants natural dye plants in the yard of Rumah Batik as a learning laboratory. Chief of Business Support Officer PT. Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Lie Si An, explained: "This natural dye garden has a fairly varied collection of batik natural dye plants, from indigo to fruit plants that can be extracted into natural dyes. This park not only functions as a decoration but also as an open classroom for Ruah Batik students to learn and appreciate the use of natural dyes for batik pesarna so that it is more environmentally friendly."
To affirm TBIG's commitment to preserving natural dyes, TBIG's management conducted a natural dye planting event to complete the collection of natural dye plants at the TBIG Batik House. The planting was carried out by the Regent of Pekalongan KH. Asip Kholbihi along with his mother and TBIG management represented by Lie Si An and Kukuh Saworo.
