TBIG BATIK HOUSE AND ITS NU PEKALONGAN ESTABLISH COMMUNITY SERVICE COLLABORATION
Jakarta, June 8, 2022 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk through Rumah Batik TBIG has collaborated with ITS NU Pusmanu Pekalongan regarding research, education, community service and resource development. The signing of the cooperation agreement was signed on May 23, 2022 by representatives of both parties which took place at the TBIG Batik House Pekalongan, Central Java. The purpose of the collaboration is to develop the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through education, research, and direct community service activities by involving lecturers and students and other related parties in efforts to preserve batik.
Through this collaboration, Rumah Batik TBIG and ITS NU Pusmanu will jointly carry out various activity programs, one of which is the socialization of environmentally friendly batik production. Through this collaboration, ITS NU Pusmanu Pekalongan plans several activities to support the success of the program. The activities carried out include the implementation of internship activities/field work practices (PKL), the implementation of batik craft research/research, the implementation of community service activities, entrepreneurial activities and seminars and workshops on Batik Crafts.
In 2022, Rumah Batik TBIG provided training to 20 students from the district and city of Pekalongan. Rumah Batik TBIG also provides batik and entrepreneurship training to students with special needs who come from Special Schools (SLB) around Wiradesa District, Pekalongan Regency.
Chief of Business Support of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk., Lie Si An explained that the dimensions of the batik preservation program at Rumah Batik TBIG will continue to be developed so that in the future Rumah Batik TBIG will become a center of excellence in batik education and preservation. "This year we are increasingly promoting the dimension of community service and environmentally friendly batik education," he explained.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk., Herman Setya Budi said that through this collaboration, it is hoped that Rumah Batik TBIG can provide greater benefits to the quality of education, economy and society from the area around Rumah Batik TBIG. "Through the collaboration between Rumah Batik TBIG and educational institutions, it can later be used as a model for other parties to continue to make efforts to preserve batik as an Indonesian cultural heritage," he added.
