TBIG Continues Batch 2 Journalism Fellowship on CSR 2025: Strengthening CSR Literacy in Journalism
Jakarta, September 1, 2025 - As a manifestation of its consistency in promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the newsroom, PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) is once again holding Batch 2 of the Journalism Fellowship on CSR 2025. This program is under TBIG's CSR education pillar and is a continuation of the first batch that took place last April.
This fellowship is designed to enrich the perspective of media professionals so that they see CSR not merely as philanthropic activities, but as part of good corporate citizenship, responsible governance, and a tangible contribution to sustainable development. Through this program, participants will gain in-depth knowledge on CSR concepts, journalistic codes of ethics, and practices in writing inspiring and socially impactful news stories.
Batch 2 is still collaborating with the Journalists Care for Education Movement (GWPP) as a strategic partner. GWPP, which consists of senior journalists with good reputations and extensive experience in the press, will provide mentors to accompany participants throughout the program.
The kick-off event was held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Rumah Belajar TBIG, Karawaci, Banten, and was attended by a number of important figures from the world of journalism and corporations.
Involving Multiple Media Outlets, Uniting the Vision of Sustainability
Batch 2 Journalism Fellowship on CSR involved thirteen national and local media outlets, including: Suaramerdeka.com, Kompas.com, TuguJatim.co.id, AyoBandung.com, Kedaulatan Rakyat Jogja, Republika, Disway Jateng, Topsatu.com, Tribunnews.com, Tagar.co, Metro TV, and Radar Tarakan in expanding the impact of this program. Journalists from various media outlets will participate in an intensive online training session for one month, from September to October 2025.
The material will be delivered by senior journalist mentors such as Frans Surdiasis, Jamalul Insan, and Illona Juwita, and will open with a keynote presentation from Lie Si An, Chief Business Support TBIG, on the theme “Together for Indonesia: CSR as a joint effort to build a sustainable Indonesian society.”
Through this second batch, TBIG hopes that more journalists will be encouraged to build objective, transparent, and sustainability-oriented public narratives.
Lie Si An emphasized, “Journalists play an important role as a bridge between companies and the community. Through their work, messages of sustainability and social responsibility can be more widely accepted, not just as news, but also as inspiration for change.”
With the continuation of the Journalism Fellowship on CSR program into its second batch, TBIG reaffirms its commitment to creating an empowered media ecosystem, while strengthening the synergy between the business world and the press in promoting responsible and positive business practices.
