TBIG CreatiON 2017 Application Development Competition for University Students Across Indonesia

Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk. (TBIG) is a leading provider of telecommunications infrastructure services, with a strong focus on the development and progress of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Indonesia. We recognize that in the current digital era, mastery of ICT by Indonesia's Human Resources (HR) will be a significant competitive advantage for this nation.

As part of our commitment to encourage the mastery of ICT for Indonesia's younger generation, TBIG invites you to participate in TBIG CreatiON, a competition to create creative solutions based on information and communication technology, aimed at university students across Indonesia. The name CreatiON itself is an abbreviation of Creative solutiON, signifying that this event aims to generate various creative solutions to address problems in the surrounding environment or to improve services for the general public.

The forms of Creative Solutions that can be submitted in this competition include:
• Mobile Application (Android or iOS-based)
• Desktop Application (Windows-based)
• Web Application
• Multimedia Application

The categories in the TBIG CreatiON 2017 competition are as follows:

• Smart Home/Residence, e.g., Alarm, Surveillance, Thermostat, Home Automation, Entertainment
• Smart Office/Building, e.g., Safety & Security, Building Automation, Power Saving, Remote Working Space
• Smart Public Service, e.g., Mobile Healthcare, Digital Clinics/Hospitals, Water Management, Waste Management, Emergency Service, Education
• Smart Transportation, e.g., Smart Parking, Congestion Management, Integrated Transport, Logistics/Supply Chain
• Smart Telco Solution, e.g., Internet Network, POI Identification, M2M, Intelligent Customer Service, Voice/Data Traffic Analysis

TBIG CreatiON 2017 Implementation Stages:

  1. Application Registration and Proposal Submission, July 11 – September 10, 2017

  2. Application Proposal Selection, September 11 – 15, 2017

  3. Announcement of 10 TBIG CreatiON Finalists, September 18, 2017

  4. Prototype Creation, Video and Final Presentation Materials, September 19 – November 3, 2017

  5. Final Presentation, November 6 – 7, 2017

  6. Expo and Awarding Ceremony, November 8, 2017

Participant Requirements:

  1. Active university students from across Indonesia, aged between 18 – 30 years.

  2. This competition can be entered individually or as a team (maximum 3 members).

  3. Fill out and submit the TBIG CreatiON 2017 Participant Registration Form accurately. The registration form can be obtained by contacting the email tbig.creation@tower-bersama.com.

  4. The application submitted must be original and not infringe on any copyrights/patents, and must fall under one of the categories being competed.

  5. The application must not contain elements of violence, SARA (ethnic, religious, and racial intolerance), pornography, gambling, or anything contrary to norms and laws in Indonesia.

  6. The application proposal must be submitted in PDF format and must include: Background of the issue addressed, how the proposed application provides a solution to the issue, and the positive impact of the application on the advancement of the ICT industry in Indonesia in general, and TBIG's business in particular.

  7. Proposals should be sent via email to tbig.creation@tower-bersama.com, with a maximum file size of 10 MB, along with the completed Registration Form.

  8. Each Proposal and Registration Form is for one application only, selecting one of the 5 competition categories. Participants are allowed to submit more than one proposal.

  9. For finalists, a working prototype of the application, a 1.5-minute explanatory video, and presentation materials for the jury are required.

  10. Participants must be willing to transfer full copyright of their application if it is selected to be further developed and sponsored by TBIG.

  11. This event has no entry fee, either for participants or finalists. Be cautious of any fraud claiming to be associated with this program or TBIG.

  12. All correspondence for this event will only be conducted via the email tbig.creation@tower-bersama.com.

  13. The decisions of the jury and event organizers for TBIG CreatiON are final and cannot be contested by any party.

1st Place: Rp. 30,000,000
2nd Place: Rp. 15,000,000
3rd Place: Rp. 10,000,000
Favorite Winner: Rp. 5,000,000

Finalists who do not win will receive a development incentive of Rp. 3,000,000.
