TBIG Distributes Humanitarian Aid for Victims of the Mount Semeru Eruption Disaster
Lumajang, December 26, 2021 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk ("TBIG") distributed humanitarian aid packages for victims of the Mount Semeru eruption disaster in Lumajang Regency, East Java. The assistance is part of the Bangun Sehat Bersama initiative program which is one of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk's CSR Pillars in the health sector.
The distribution of humanitarian aid was carried out in two stages, with a total of 16 tons of humanitarian aid packages provided in the form of 16 tons of rice, 4,000 cans of ready-to-eat food, 4,000 boxes of medical masks, 2,000 blankets and 2,000 bottles of eucalyptus oil.
The first phase of assistance was distributed through the Lumajang Regency Government as much as 6 tons of rice, 2,000 blankets, 2,000 cans of ready-to-eat food, 2,000 boxes of medical masks and 2000 bottles of eucalyptus oil which will be given to people affected by the disaster in the Lumajang Regency area and its surroundings.
For the second phase, assistance will be distributed directly by the TBIG team assisted by volunteers to 10 points around the TBIG site affected by the Mount Semeru eruption disaster. The second phase of assistance amounted to 10 tons of rice, 2,000 cans of ready-to-eat food, and 2,000 boxes of medical masks. The ten locations are: Supit Urang village, Sumber Urip village, Oro Oro Ombo village, Sidomulyo village, Taman Ayu village, Bulurejo village, Sumbermuju village, Sumpiturang village.
Chief of Business Support of PT Tower Bersama Infrastrcture Tbk., Lie Si An explained that post-disaster assistance is part of TBIG's CSR program in the health pillar. "In addition to assistance in the form of food and clothing distributed to several disaster areas, TBIG also operates six units of clinic cars that are on standby at all times to be dispatched to the disaster site as post-disaster relief assistance. The team we sent is quite trained and experienced in handling humanitarian assistance in disaster areas," he explained.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk., Herman Setya Budi expressed his concern over the disaster experienced by community members around the Mount Semeru area, especially Lumajang Regency. "TBIG is also concerned about the disaster that occurred. We hope that the assistance we provide can help residents in evacuation camps a little bit and help accelerate disaster management efforts carried out by various parties, including the government," he explained, adding that TBIG will continue to realize its social concern through measurable and targeted CSR initiatives.
