THE NUMBER OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS JOINING THE FLAGSHIP CURRICULUM PROGRAM CONTINUES TO GROW
Jakarta, May 22, 2026 - PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk has demonstrated a tangible commitment to improving the quality of vocational school graduates, particularly by enhancing their competencies in the field of telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia. This commitment is reflected in the implementation of programs within the education pillar that are measurable, well-planned, and sustainable. The program, which was launched in 2018 with three vocational high schools on the island of Java participating, now involves 60 vocational high schools from Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and even Papua. A total of 3,130 students and 166 teachers have benefited from the training.
This was stated by Chief of Business Support Officer Lie Si An during a site visit to the TBIG Lab to observe the implementation of the Flagship Curriculum training program for students at SMK HS Agung Bekasi.
“This is part of our regular activities under the Education pillar of our CSR program. We conduct activities like today’s on a monthly basis, in addition to our scheduled and structured in-class and on-site training sessions,” he explained during the event. Si An added that the training provided to these vocational high school students is conducted on a regular basis and follows a standardized curriculum. “Upon completing the training, graduates of this program will have the opportunity to participate in internships with TBIG’s business partners,” he explained, adding that some have already been hired by TBIG’s business partners and subsidiaries.
On a separate occasion, Herman Setya Budi, President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, stated that TBIG is strongly committed to contributing to human resource development in Indonesia, particularly in the telecommunications infrastructure sector. He also added that the company’s actions reflect TBIG’s commitment to consistently implementing ESG principles. “Our CSR initiatives are driven by a commitment to help achieve the development goals outlined in the SDGs,” he added.
PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS SKILL GAPS
Subur Taufiq, principal of SMK HS Agung Bekasi, who participated in the training at TBIG LAB, said that training like this provides vocational high schools with concrete solutions to bridge the gap between the competencies of vocational graduates and the demands of the workforce. “Schools face a major challenge in keeping pace with the evolving competencies required in today’s workforce. TBIG’s Flagship Curriculum Program supports vocational high schools in accelerating their efforts to catch up,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, in their testimonials, the students who received the training said they were happy to have the opportunity to participate. “I’m glad to have seen firsthand how the telecommunications infrastructure industry operates. We have lab sessions at school too, but here the equipment and curriculum are more comprehensive,” said Raditya Caesar Hidayat, a student at SMK HS Agung who participated in the training that day.
A total of 35 students and eight teachers attended the four-hour training session. The training covered an introduction to the telecommunications infrastructure industry and the basics of fiber optic network maintenance.
