TBIG Provides Nutritious Food Assistance to 2,200 Residents of Merauke

Jakarta, September 23, 2025 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) completed a series of social service activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia by holding a social service event in the easternmost part of the archipelago, namely in the city of Merauke, South Papua.

For this activity, TBIG collaborated with the Regional Naval Command XI (Lantamal XI). TBIG distributed nutritious food and medicines to Kopassus personnel at the Indonesia-PNG border post in Sota, the Karang Indah Community Health Center in Merauke, and the community in the Kumbe border area, South Papua.

In total, the program reached 2,295 beneficiaries, with a total of 2.2 tons of staple food items and 755 packages of medicines, vitamins, and metabolic sticks distributed. The assistance was focused on communities around the Lantamal XI Merauke and Kumbe border areas.

Vitamins and medicines were handed over directly by TBIG representatives to the Head of the Karang Indah Community Health Center, Dr. Yoseph Sujono. The health center received 185 strips of vitamin C, 200 strips of vitamin B, 100 metabolic sticks, 90 uric acid sticks, 80 cholesterol sticks, and 100 blood sugar sticks.

“This assistance further enhances our ability to provide health services, especially for community health checks and treatment,” said Dr. Yoseph.

Additionally, residents have also felt the benefits of TBIG’s presence in Merauke. “Thank you to TBIG for building communication infrastructure in South Papua. We are greatly assisted because communication is now much easier,” said Yessi Pallo, a resident of Merauke, after the symbolic event at the TBIG Macan Tutul Pier site.

Lie Si An, Chief of Business Support Officer TBIG, explained that health and nutrition literacy improvement activities are not limited to 80 villages in the 3T region. “We have been running this program consistently from January to December, and we will continue it in the following years,” he said, adding that the company is targeting 504 action quotas in various regions in Indonesia. “As of September, we have achieved 76% of the total targeted quota,” he added.

TBIG President Director Herman Setya Budi emphasized that improving public health literacy in the 3T region is TBIG's top CSR priority. “Health education is crucial. It requires collaboration from all parties to improve it. TBIG is committed to being part of the solution, because health issues are our shared responsibility,” he said.
