TBIG Strengthens Collaboration with Vocational Schools, Prepares Skilled Workforce for the Telecommunications Industry
Jakarta, February 14, 2025 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) continues to demonstrate its commitment to human resource development in the telecommunications sector through its Flagship Curriculum and Industry Class program. Through this initiative, TBIG equips vocational school students and teachers with communication technology skills, including training in Fiber Optics, Fiber to The Home (FTTH), and hands-on industry experience.
As part of this program, TBIG held an intensive training session at Rumah Belajar TBIG, Karawaci, Tangerang, on February 6. A total of 82 students and 9 teachers from SMK Angkasa Margahayu Bandung had the opportunity to learn directly from TBIG experts about telecommunications infrastructure technology, business processes, and sustainable industry operations.
"We aim to provide broader access for vocational students so that they are ready to face the challenges of the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry. Vocational education plays a crucial role in producing competent workers in this sector," said Lie Si An, Chief of Business Support Officer at TBIG. He also emphasized that TBIG will continue this program throughout 2025 as part of the company's corporate social responsibility.
From early 2024 to February 2025, TBIG has provided theoretical and practical training to 1,211 students and 50 teachers from various vocational schools across Indonesia. Additionally, 31 vocational schools have received curriculum materials on fiber optics and FTTH, benefiting a total of 9,176 students.
TBIG President Director Herman Setya Budi emphasize the importance of synergy between education and industry. "Partnerships with vocational education institutions are crucial to bridging the gap between theory and practical work experience, especially in the ICT sector, which requires experts with specialized skills," he stated.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK Angkasa Margahayu Bandung, Sutrisno, S.Pd., M.M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the program. "We are grateful to TBIG for broadening our students' knowledge of the telecommunications industry. Hopefully, this experience will motivate them to further develop skills that align with industry needs," he said.
By continuing to innovate in social and educational programs, TBIG hopes to make a greater contribution to preparing young generations for competitiveness in the telecommunications industry while supporting the development of digital infrastructure in Indonesia.
