TBIG Supplies Basic Needs for Residents of Demak Affected by Flood Disaster

Jakarta, March 13, 2024 - PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (“TBIG”) has once again provided humanitarian assistance consisting of staple goods and ready-to-eat food that can be consumed immediately. TBIG has also established cooperation with relevant parties to ensure that the distribution of aid is carried out accurately and efficiently to the victims at five flood disaster points in Grobogan and Demak, Central Java.

The flood disaster that has struck this region has caused significant losses for the local community. Thousands of houses have been inundated, while many residents have lost their homes and have been forced to evacuate. Supplies of food and other basic necessities have also become scarce, increasing the difficulties for disaster victims to meet their daily needs. According to data released by the Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Central Java, as of February 18, 2023, at 10:00 PM, the total number of evacuees was 18,739, spread across 125 evacuation points.

The President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Herman Setya Budi hopes that this assistance can help alleviate the burden of the community following the flood disaster. "We also sympathize with the flood disaster that occurred in Grobokan and Demak regencies, and we hope that this assistance can provide some relief for the disaster victims and help them in the recovery process,” he explained.

Chief of Business Support at PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Lie Si An added that TBIG is committed to supporting the community's efforts to improve social conditions after the disaster. For this humanitarian action, TBIG dispatched one fleet of clinic vehicles to provide assistance to 550 families in the disaster-affected areas of two sub-districts in Demak Regency. The assistance consists of staple food items and ready-to-eat meals (instant noodles and canned food).

Currently, TBIG operates one Mobile Clinic fleet (Monik) to provide health access to the community in disaster-affected areas.
