Tower Bersama Hosts Application Competition 2017

TBIG CreatiON is a nationwide application and IoT competition for students aimed at providing a platform for young people to channel their creativity in creating creative and effective solutions that benefit society.

Jakarta, November 9, 2017 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk. (“TBIG”) hosted TBIG CreatiON 2017, an application and IoT competition for students. This national-scale event, with the theme “Bring Up Solutions for Community Welfare,” aims to provide a platform for young people to channel their creativity in creating innovative and effective solutions that are beneficial to society in Indonesia.

Out of the 16 teams that made it to the final stage, the following 3 main winners and 1 favorite winner were selected:

  • 1st Place: “Boolala” Application, Universitas Kristen Dutawacana, Yogyakarta

  • 2nd Place: “Tukang Dagang,” STMIK LPKIA, Bandung

  • 3rd Place: “Agro Car,” Politeknik Harapan Bersama, Tegal

  • Favorite Winner: “Car Control,” Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta

TBIG CreatiON started on July 11, 2017, and was divided into several stages, including proposal submission and selection, culminating in the final judging on November 6 and 7, 2017.

The event organizer, Lie Si An, who is also the Chief of Business Support Officer at PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk., hopes that this initiative will produce solutions that can benefit the wider community. “This is our first time organizing such a competition, and many creative ideas have been generated by the young participants,” he explained. He also mentioned that the judging panel consisted of internal company members, as well as practitioners and experts from the education and ICT industries in Indonesia. “The composition of the jury, which includes both internal company members and external ICT practitioners and academics, is intended to ensure that the evaluation covers all aspects necessary for developing ideas and concepts from the participants,” he added.

The Chairman of the TBIG CreatiON 2017 Jury, Gusandi Sjamsudin, assessed that the IoT solutions and applications presented by the finalists were quite diverse and represented the needs of both urban and rural communities in Indonesia. “Ultimately, the best idea should win. I hope that such a competition can be held again next year and attract more participants,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk., Herman Setya Budi, explained that Tower Bersama is committed to contributing to the advancement of the ICT industry in Indonesia. “Through this event, we hope to discover talented individuals who will become pillars supporting the advancement of the ICT industry,” Herman stated, adding that Indonesia has a talented young generation with great potential for development. “We are confident that this nation has creative talents with great potential for growth.”
