Tower Bersama Supports Palu-Donggala Recovery

The implementation of Trauma Healing for High School/Vocational School Teachers in the city of Palu which ended today, November 7, fulfilled a series of humanitarian actions of Tower Bersama to help the city recover after the earthquake and tsunami disaster

Jakarta, November 7, 2018 – In the recovery stage of Palu and Donggala after the 7 magnitude earthquake occurred last week, PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk. ("TBIG") handed over a series of assistance to the government and the local community. The assistance began with the delivery of food packages to the Secretary of Central Sulawesi Province which will later be distributed to refugees in several places by the Head of the Education Office. After that, TBIG's humanitarian action continued with the laying of the first stone for the reconstruction of the SMK 7 Palu laboratory.

"The handover of this assistance is a form of the Company's concern for the disasters that occurred in Palu, Donggala and Sigi. Through this humanitarian activity, we hope to ease the burden suffered by the victims as well as help the post-disaster recovery process," said TBIG's Chief Asset and Operation Officer, Kukuh Saworo who was present to represent the company at the groundbreaking ceremony.

In addition to food assistance and the reconstruction of school laboratories, TBIG also sent a medical team to provide health service assistance to disaster victims. Health assistance was carried out for four consecutive days starting from October 31 to November 4, 2018.  Hundreds of residents received health service assistance, which included health checks and treatment.   This health assistance service activity was carried out at the Central Sulawesi Provincial Education and Culture Office.

President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Herman Setya Budi said "Tower Bersama will continue to maintain its commitment to the environment and the community in the company's operational area. The social environment is an important aspect that must be considered in company operations. Therefore, we are always proactive in responding to these kinds of emergency conditions."

The disaster response action carried out by TBIG is an activity that has been programmed in the company's CSR initiatives. "We try to always be present at disaster points to help people affected by disasters," he explained further.

The series of TBIG's humanitarian activities was closed with the Trauma Healing program for the impact of the Earthquake and Tsunami disaster in Central Sulawesi in collaboration with the Central Sulawesi Provincial Education and Culture Office for high school/vocational teachers in the local city from November 5 to November 7 at SMK Negeri 3 Palu.
