Winners of TBIG CreatiON 2018 Announced
TBIG CreatiON is a nationwide application and IoT competition for students aimed at providing a platform for young people to create creative and effective solutions that are useful for society.
Jakarta, November 16, 2018 – PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk. (“TBIG”) has announced the winners of TBIG CreatiON 2018, a competition for student applications and IoT. This national-scale event, with the theme "Unlocking Potential in Community Through Technology Adoption," aims to provide a platform for young people to channel their creativity and create innovative and effective solutions beneficial to society in Indonesia.
Out of the 15 teams that passed the final stage, the following 3 main winners and 2 favorite winners were selected:
1st Place: RIVEST – Universitas Komputer Indonesia
2nd Place: PANTAUTERNAK – Universitas Gadjah Mada
3rd Place: JALAN.IN – Universitas Indonesia
Favorite Application: ASISTANI – SMK Telkom Purwokerto
Favorite Video: INVESPROPERTI – SBM Institut Teknologi Bandung
TBIG CreatiON started in June 2018 and was divided into several stages, including proposal submission and selection, with the final judging phase held on November 14 and 15, 2018.
The event organizer, Lie Si An, who is also the Chief of Business Support Officer at TBIG, hopes that this initiative will result in solutions that can benefit society at large.
“This is the second time we’ve organized such a competition, and many creative ideas have been produced by the participants, all of whom are still young,” he said in Jakarta, Friday (November 16).
He also explained that the judging panel consisted of both internal company members and professionals and experts from the education and ICT industries in the country. “The composition of the jury, which includes both internal company members and external ICT practitioners and academics, is designed to ensure that the evaluation covers all aspects necessary for developing the ideas and concepts of the participants,” he explained.
The Chairman of the TBIG CreatiON 2018 Jury, Gusandi Sjamsudin, noted that the IoT solutions and applications presented by the finalists were diverse and represented the needs of both urban and rural communities in Indonesia.
“The winners represent the best ideas and meet the criteria set by the jury. I hope that such competitions can be held again next year, attracting even more participants,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Tbk., Herman Setya Budi, explained that Tower Bersama is committed to contributing to the progress of the ICT industry in Indonesia.
“Through this event, we hope to discover talented individuals who will become pillars supporting the advancement of the ICT industry. We are confident that this nation has creative talents with great potential to be developed,” he said.
