TBIG Distributes Food Aid for Mount Lewotobi Eruption Victims

Jakarta, December 2, 2024 – The eruption of Mount Lewotobi on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, on November 3, 2024, has had a significant impact on the local community. According to the latest data from BNPB (November 20, 2024), the eruption destroyed 23 houses and forced 12,959 people to evacuate to emergency shelters.

As a form of concern for the victims, PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk. (TBIG) distributed three tons of basic food aid. This aid was symbolically handed over by TBIG's Chief Business Support Officer, Lie Si An, to the Chairman of the Filantra Foundation, Asep Nurdin, at TBIG's head office, Jakarta. The Filantra Foundation, as an implementing partner, will ensure that the aid reaches the affected residents directly.

During the handover ceremony, Lie Si An expressed his hope that this aid could meet the basic needs of the evacuees. "We hope that this aid can slightly ease the burden on our brothers and sisters affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi. Hopefully they will soon find comfort and security again," he said.

President Director of PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk., Herman Setya Budi, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting communities affected by disasters. "We believe that the existence of a company is not only to generate profits, but also to make a real contribution to society. In a situation like this, we want to be part of the solution, working with the government and the community to help those in need," he said.

This activity is part of TBIG's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through the "Bangun Sehat Bersama" program, which focuses on public health. This program is designed to support community welfare, both through emergency assistance in disaster situations and other social activities.

With real actions like this, TBIG shows its concern and responsibility as a company that is always present for the community, especially when they face major challenges such as natural disasters.
